Mystery shopping taxable vouchers?

Hi all,
Ok I do some occassional mystery shopping and was wondering whether the vouchers I recieve are taxable? I have heard that you should register for tax purposes but I only ever get paid in vouchers.
So if I only get paid in vouchers e.g. Boots etc then will I have to still register for tax pursposes?
I would be grateful for any replies.
Many thanks.

Give HMRC a call and register as self employed; you'd be surprised how easy and minimal the paperwork is.0

Hello,
OK I only do internet surveys and get paid in vouchers, does that mean I have to register for tax aswell?
Or is it just for mystery shopping?0 -

Hi iluvfreebies - I'm really sorry I didn't make myself clear - I do a mixture of mystery shopping and internet surveys - and I get paid cash for the mystery shopping and vouchers for the surveys - I think I cut the question too short and confused myself - I apologise.:o
But as confusedmix says if he/she only gets paid in vouchers then does it still apply?0 -

If it's not a great deal of income you'll probably be able to put in through elsewhere on your usual tax form rather than having to set up as self employed. I'm self employed for another reason entirely but in the past I've been able to put in through these bits and pieces under the bit on the form for anything else not covered elsewhere. Now, the online self assessment form changed (yet again) this year so off the top of my head I couldn't tell you where on the form this bit is but it there somewhere. It's the bit where you can declare bits of casual work etc...
Hope that helps.Yeah, whatever. I'm a grown up, I can take it...0
