Vertbaudet Eco-Designer Competition Rules

1. VERTBAUDET* is organising a competition entitled THE VERTBAUDET INTERNATIONAL ECO-DESIGNER
COMPETITION which will run from 23/02/2009 to midnight 28/03/2009. There will be 1 winning dress or T-shirt
for the Fashion catalogue and 1 winning bedding set for the Homes collection catalogue (where circulated) per
country. In the UK there will be a winning dress or T-shirt and a winning bedding set.

2. No purchase is necessary to participate in this competition.

3. The competition is open to all children between the ages of six and twelve years (inclusive) with the exception
of children whose immediate family may be involved in the promotion of the competition or may be employees of
VERTBAUDET or any other organisation associated with the promotion of the competition. Entries are limited to
one entry per child and per household.

4. All entries must be received by VERTBAUDET by midnight on 28/03/2009. The online competition will close 3
working days later at midnight on 01/04/2009

5. To enter, send your drawing of a child wearing a dress or T-shirt (for a boy or girl) or a design for a bedding set
between 23/02/2009 and midnight 28/03/2009, based on the theme 'Save the planet!
Competition entries can be sent:
• By post to the following address: DESIGNER COMPETITION, VERTBAUDET, 2 Holdsworth Street, Bradford,
West Yorkshire, BD1 4AH.
They must appear on A4 paper, in colour, using any art medium including pencils, felt tips, paint, pastels, collage
etc. The child's full name and age and the parent's address and telephone number must be clearly written on the
back.
• By email to [EMAIL="design.competition@vertbaudet.co.uk"]design.competition@vertbaudet.co.uk[/EMAIL].
Designs must be scanned and uploaded and include the child's full name, age and the parent's address and
telephone number.
Entries submitted that are not signed by the entrant and their legal guardian, or that are torn, illegible or incomplete
will be deemed null and void. These entries will not be entered into the competition.
Proof of posting is not deemed as proof of receipt. Responsibility cannot be accepted for entries arriving after the
closing date. Entries will not be returned.

6. The judging panel will be made up of 5 VERTBAUDET employees and 3 independent others; names available
on request. They will make their decision by 10 April 2009 at the latest. The winning design will be chosen based
on the criteria of creativity, fashion and technical feasibility.

7. The winner will see their dress, T-shirt or bedding set design turned into a finished product to be sold in any of
Vertbaudet's distribution channels (catalogue, shops, web) in the Spring-Summer 2010 collection, in any or all of
the countries where Vertbaudet is present, excluding any accessories shown on the design such as jewellery,
shoes etc. Only the dress, T-shirt or bedding set will be created. However, Vertbaudet reserves the right to create
any accessories if the judging panel deems them to be essential to the design.
In addition, if the design features words or phrases, these may be translated into other languages.
The winner will receive, by registered post:
• The dress, T-shirt or bedding set
• A Nintendo Wii console plus one game of your choice
• A years worth of clothing from Vertbaudet to the value of £350 – which will be issued as a Vertbaudet credit.

8. The competition winners will be notified by registered letter at the latest by the 9th May 2009 and will receive
their prizes within 6 weeks following the decision of the judging panel, which will take place latest by the 10th of
April 2009.

9. By their child entering this competition, the legal guardian is deemed to have accepted the competition rules.
The winning child must provide the full name of both parents and a declaration signed by both the child and the
parents to prove that they legally represent the child.
By entering this competition, entrants agree to Vertbaudet’s exclusive rights to alter or adapt their design when
creating the garment.

10. By entering this competition, entrants hereby assign all past and future rights (including, but not limited to, all
copyright and design rights) to VERTBAUDET including but not limited to all rights to reproduce, represent and
adapt the design in any country where VERTBAUDET is commercially active, for the purposes of:
• VERTBAUDET creating and selling the item designed by the child
• promoting the created product, which will be associated with the child's design.
This applies to all media, both online and offline, notably catalogues, prospections and flyers.

11. The winner agrees to any use of their name, country, photograph (online or offline), voice or handwriting, and
winners who do not comply with this condition will waive their right to their prize.

12. Entrants must live at the address stated on their entry form.

13. The name of the competition winners can be obtained by writing to VERTBAUDET at the customer service
address.

14. VERTBAUDET will not be held responsible if, for reasons beyond our control, this competition is postponed,
altered, extended or cancelled wholly or in part.

15. These rules are available free of charge to anyone submitting a written request to VERTBAUDET, quoting the
competition name.

16. By participating in the competition, entrants automatically accept the competition rules.
