CSA Question....child payment plus mortgage.

Personally, as the CSA are already involved, I would name this payment as "maintenance paid to mother's name for child's name" in a standing order.
As long as the figure is not less that what the CSA have agreed, then there should be no arrears build up & if they do try & chase you for false arrears in the future, then you have the proof in bank statements that you have paid at least that amount in child maintenance.
If he wishes to pay more than the minimum amount stated, to make up the mortgage shortfall, then that is his choice.
At the end of the day, once the PWC has received the maintenance payment, they can spend it as they wish.Donedoingdebt Lightbulb moment January 2000. Debt at highest approx £102,000. Debt now (October 2009 - absolutely fork all!!!)

More importantly.... csa tight!
That I don't know and would not have the audacity to ask. I hope it is watertight as I think she has the best deal.
She is working in a school gets CB and CTC and WTC as a single parent. She has no mortgage payments or rent.
He unfortunately has to pay the mortgage and pay rent where he is living.0 -

However if he is still named on the deeds and mortgage, then he remains part owner (or full owner if she isn't) so that should there be any equity in the house either now or in the future,he will benefit from the sale of the house. This is what I have said to my ex who pays half mortgage direct. I had over £100,000 equity in the house when we met, which he has agreed in writing is not his,but any increase in the value will be split with him when the house is eventually sold.(I know theres a credit crunch/property crisis at the moment but we put an extension on and increased to 4 beds so it is still valued more than when we married)
One thing I would remind you is that in many cases mortgages are far cheaper than rent in many areas at the moment. Where I live to rent a smaller house would be around £850 a month (it's recently dropped slightly) but the mortgage is £440. It's therefore far cheaper to keep the house and he doesn't pay child maintenance so gets quite a cheap deal really!Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0 -
He is paying the mortgage and having to pay rent for the place he is living in. So in that scenario you have posted he is paying £1290 plus bills and everyday living expenses and she pays nothing but living expenses. He also has them one day in the week, every other weekend and splits holidays. One thing I would remind you is that in many cases mortgages are far cheaper than rent in many areas at the moment. If they went through the CSA he would only be expected to pay a percentage of his wage and get a reduction for the shared care. She would then have to pay her own living expenses.
So she is definitely getting the better cheaper deal.0
