Taxation while working overseas

in Cutting tax
Hi,
Looking for some info please / confirmation of my understanding.
About to take a work contract overseas (in Asia) with 8 weeks there and 1 week for a home UK visit. It'll initially be a 6 month contract, but probably end up being much longer. My wife (who is a housewife) and daughter will remain in the UK. As I understand it I will only be required to pay UK taxes on my overseas earnings if I am in aggregate 183 days or more in the UK for any given full tax year. However .....
1.) I read elsewhere of something not exceeding an average of 91 days - which is confusing; and
2.) Also, would I (or us as a family) not be considered tax resident anyway, seeing that my wife and daughter remain in country?
Appreciate anyone who could clarify this for me please.
Thank you in advance

You would only be regared as not resident in the UK if you were absent for a complete tax year (6 April to 5 April).£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0

You will remain UK resident and taxable in full but can claim credit for foreign tax so may not owe much here if you also pay there..0
