Tax Computation Help - WDA's/Capital Allowance Claims

2008/09 Tax Computations
Has anyone got a straightforward table of allowances we could use – the Whillans’s Tax Tables are not very easy to see at a glance and we are fed up of pestering the boss!
Our computations and schedules of allowances are prepared manually.
Example – client’s year end is 5 November 2008 (the 2008/09 Tax Year)
Equipment wdv brought forward is £5000
Am I right in saying that you would apportion the capital allowance claim to 7 months at 25% and the remainder at 20%?
Also, the 100% allowance (all our clients are classed as small businesses) – this is only available on plant and machinery/vans bought AFTER 5 April 2008?
So, going back to above example, the accounts are prepared to 5 November 2008 but if he bought the van in August 2008, he could only claim a 25% allowance even though the accounts fall into the 2008/09 tax year?
The allowance for cars is again a mix of 25% and 20% - with a maximum claim of £3000?
If anyone has a straightforward table of rates to post on here, would be very grateful!
