Are any of local banks in N.I. doing competive loan rates? GAP INSURANCE?

My car loan is allmost up, the dealer i bought it of put me through NIIB 2 years ago at 5% there a finance house of one of the main Norn Iron banks, whose name escapes me atm.

Yea the car place gave me a quote from NIIB but i reckon can do better. I kinda was bit sus and thought they were pushing due to comission. I rang them myself they said I can not ask for quote myself as the car dealer is associated :cool:

If you say it's typical I believe you but I because there has been such a big push in the financial services industry to always quote APRs as they are a more accurate description of interest I was surprised that the dealer didn't do this. If car dealers have different rules on finance than the rest of the industry shouldn't they be more up front about it?

I last bought a car 7 years ago and it was on 0% interest so the difference didn't occur then.
