what's wrong with my shower?

I have an electric shower what was working fine one min, untill i noticed a loss of pressure. On inspection i saw water flowing out a small black pipe behind the shower hose connection.
A new shower hose and head have been fitted recently so they're not scaled up. Is this a problem that can be repaired or is a new shower needed. The shower in question is a redring expressions 500 if anyone has knowledge of that model.
Thankyou in advance of any replies.

Hi...the OH says it could be the pressure relief device....you said you have recently changed the shower head and hose...these aren't always compatible with a shower if the replacements aren't original spec. Have you checked the Redring website?

I have taken the shower head and pipe off completely. When i held a large jug underneath the hose outlet (turned unit on) water still came fom the outlet and the black pipe behind.I came into this world with nothing and I'm gonna leave with nothing.0 -

This is likely because excess pressure will have activated the valve causing water to exit from the small vent pipe. Fit a new relief device.
Check if it's available...http://www.showerdoc.co.uk/shower-spares/applied-energy/redring/m20.htm?id=m20&brand=redring&x=14&y=10Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -
