Good Morning All,
Im not sure if this is the right forum but I was wondering if someone could help me with a problem I have.
I recently applied to my bank (LLoyds TSB), and was tunrned down, they told me to have a look at my credit file as there was something on there that was stopping me.
I have recived a copy and im shocked to find there has been over 20 credit searches over the past 6 months done without my knowledge. it ranges from Car Finance to Mobile Phone contracts.
Ive been in touch with Equifax who have told me that I need to get in touch with the companies concerned to get the entry removed as they cant touch them.
Now my question is which department to i write to, do i go to the Customer Service department or to the Credit Departments or somewhere else?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Are you saying that these searches are from companies you have had no dealings with - or just that you didn't realise they would carry out a check on you as part of the transaction you had with them ?
If they do not relate to you then you are entitled to have your credit file corrected ...0 -
Calling the customer services department and asking themis the best way, some companies might not have a credit department. xx0/2013

They are all companies I have had/have no dealing with at all.
I'll give them a ring and see what i can sort out...thanks for your advice.0 -
Did you use a screen scraper website for any quotes?
As part of their quotation check I believe some do a check on your address.
After using Confused to check prices for car insurance some insurance co address checks showed up on my Experian report..0
