Cleaning Fountain Pens?

Does anyone have any good tips for cleaning fountain/cartrige pens?

You know when they have been sat in a drawer for a couple of years, and all the ink has dried up inside.

I've tried washing it through, but that hasn't seemed to work, so just looking for some other ideas please.

Ta :)

I would try to fill them with warm soapy water and leave them to stand for a few days. I would not try solvents.
There is a plastic/rubber bag inside to hold the ink. That might have perished.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.
  • I used some inkjet refill flush, it worked a treat for me on an old fountain pen.
