I accept people should thank someone if they have found a post useful, but it is not the rules that you must thank, and people shouldn't take any offence at people if they don't thank them. If somebody didn't say thank you to me when I held a door open for them I wouldn't slam it back in their face.
I didn't think it was fair on the OP to have a go at them saying they "couldn't be bothered" to post an answer. There was no need to mention that.0 -

But they would get me saying your welcome, in a loud voice.
To be honest the OP is pretty ignorant. But then that's my opinion.
And a total stranger telling me they don't like the cut of my jib, I couldn't really care less. You have no provenance.0 -
Oh wow, Al Mac, we're cut from the same cloth. I swear, someone stood on my feet the other day and didn't apologise and I said, "That's ok, apology accepted" and today, despite lugging a heavy slow cooker in the rain, I moved aside for someone who never thanked me and I said "YOu're welcome" loudly. LoL.0

I must say that I really agree with you on this. The thanks button works so well for us so why not use it.0 -
While I don't normally go out of my way to point out other people's ignorance, I do totally subscribe to my wise old mum's adage that 'good manners cost nothing'.
Thanking is only polite, some people put a lot of time and effort into finding competitions and answers, and while I accept that some people may 'forget' to thank, it is frustrating to see so many people viewing a page and not offering the courtesy of thanking someone who has supplied an answer.
Sorry to rant, but I'm annoyed :mad:Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky'

They updated the post to tell people to thank you and you still call them ignorant. Maybe not straight away but then they might have better things to do. What more do you want? A standing ovation?
All hail Al Mac............though by the looks of it you all do anyway..... Goodness knows why, he's a miserable old goat who thinks he owns this forum (along with the other regulars  )
Run along now Al, post this in the inn for sympathy
Cue backlash..... ......0 -
Love the fact that Crybaby has had to create a 'new' alias to post - don't see the point in that myself - if you have something to say, say it - or are you afraid of the backlash yourself??Made it - 15 years married!! Finally!! xx:beer:0

Crybaby (living up to your name by the sound of that whinge!)
I personally I don't care who posts what, but I'll support a reasonable request for manners.
It sounds like you have a grudge however, so perhaps you need to get it off your chest...Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky'
