There is another thread on here about a firm called Teletech. Sounds like something similar. Have a look around on here for it. Came across the thread a couple of days ago and some people have been doing it for a year now.

I would definatley say that this is real. It looks like a job from the Jobcenter which is a government run organisation, so i would deffo say its real0
-
Of course it's real job otherwise the Jobcentre woundn't have put it on their Jobpoints Duhh.:p It's not to good to be true, becuase it's just a home call centre job. I have seen them advertised on Job websites before, and £6.75 ph is chicken feed in todays world.0

I'd act with caution but if it's advertised on Jobcentre it would seem it's legitimate. Try it out but if they ask you to pay for something upfront get out fast:j:jWins 2009: 57 totalling £3083:j:j:jNovember - Peroni Bottle Opener, Jonas Brothers DVD, Loreal Glam Shine Lip Gloss, Richard Hammond Blast Labs, St Helier T Shirts, McCain Chips:j0

I think this is real - it does sound like a teletech position.
However, the people who are saying 'of course it's real if it's on the jobcentre website' are wrong. Anyone can put a job on that website, you don't even need to register - in fact, they tell employers to post a job before they take any company details. I was surprised at this when putting up jobs for my company.0 -
Keep your eyes open though - was something on the radio today about dodgy companies putting adverts on Jobcentre (the beeb managed to get accreditation from Jobcentre to place ads for their non-existent company, apparently checks aren't that exhaustive). More info here http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/youandyours/items/07/2009_09_wed.shtml
One of the scams they were highlighting is where a job is advertised, when you apply "sorry all filled but you can contact us on a premium rate line and pay us for a training course"...
[edit] just seen lulaloo's post - no wonder the beeb found it easy... (scary stuff)0 -
Hi there OP.
there was a feature on BBC Radio Four Today "You and Yours" about fake jobs advertised by Jobcentre plus - the programme even posted their own fak jobs. Some of these ask for an "upfront fee" which is how they generate income, and then you go on to attract more people to pay an upfront fee! You can check their website as they usually have discussions about their featured topics: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/youandyours/
I can't tell from the info aupplied by you whether it is legit or not, but would advise you to be careful. I went for a housekeeping job advertised by Jobcentre Plus. All went well in the interview, then the man went on to say, "Of-course, you can keep signing on - we'll pay you on top of that" - and he had the gaul to advertise on Jobcentreplus! I walked away. Please take care. We don't need to be messed about by idiots when all we want is a real job.
