I'm intrigued as to why you keep your food shopping receipts for that long ... surely the food was eaten long ago and impossible to take back  well in it's original form anyway.
I do keep grocery till receipts if I have bought a DVD at the same time, but if it's just food, it's thrown once checked will credit card bill/bank statement. There's no woman sicker than the woman who is sick on her day off !0 -

I have just finished a trading law course at work (a well known diy chain) and on that course we were told that the law states customers do not need to prove they bought the item from us, we have to prove they didnt.
is that not trying to prove a negative . how can a store prove you didn't buy a freely available item from them for example a tin of dulux paint ? plainly wrong in law but possibly a company policy ie if they stock it they'll sort it0
