Closing catalogue accounts with a balance?

Hi all, I've finally turned a new leaf and need to face my huge catalogue debts . I can JUST about manage the minimum monthly payments and have not missed any so far. But enough is enough. So far I have closed the accounts I have paid off :T. But I have two left: Next and Littlewoods Direct. Both have a balance of £700. Can I close these accounts and continue the payments ? Or do I pay off first then close? I just don't want to have the temptation there. Thanks x

I don't know if you can do that- probably best to call them and ask. I know how you feel about the temptation thugh- I have both those accounts too and every time I want to get something new, a small part of my brain wants to get them on catalogue- even though I manage to resist I would like for the option to be taken away! My next is 820ish and my littlewoods is 2400ish. Nightmare! Good luck x

Ok thanks, Im goning to give them an email rather than wait on hold for 10p a min. I've been doing so well this month with not buying on catalogues. I can't believe I let myself fall for them in the first place :o. But like I said. Enough is enough! The worst is buying in the Next sale, as by the time interest is put on im paying full price anyway . xxx
