Hi all!
As you can see I'm more of a reader than a poster though I do try and offer advice when I can but this time, I'm really stumped!
I stupidly saw Gammon joints on offer for £10 in MrT's and picked one up without looking - it's smoked and we hate smoked meat!! I could kick myself as we really don't like the smell or taste or anything of smoked meat....
Can any of you wise people give me a clue as to what I can do with it to disguise the smoked bit?
I've got it soaking in cold water hoping that will help and thinking maybe smother it in Honey in the SC tomorrow for the day but can anyone think of anything else???
Sorry if this is a really stupid question but I hate to waste food and I can see it going that way.....
Thanks All!

Hi nearly-30,
We love smoked gamon and once when I soaked it in cold water for 24 hours I was really disappointed that it had completely lost all of it's smoked taste so hopefully soaking it will work in the same way for you.

try some brown sugar in the water when boiling it sometimes that helps or when cooking it frequently change the water that should take some of the smokiness out of it0
