partner's self-employment, need more help please?

thanks for replies to this post re my partner's change of job. just wondered though, what if we can't afford to pay the usual £65 per week plus the agreed £20 arrears? we are confident that his wages will increase but just can't pay this amount at the moment.
I'm under the impression that if we contact the csa tomorrow they will say we have to keep paying the same amount, which is impossible.

    if your partner is self employed how can they know how much he gets ?

    Because he has to prove his income via the inland revenue - want to risk fiddling the inland revenue too and getting into big trouble? UP to you.

    You could ask for a DMD to be put in place while he builds up a pattern of earnings etc but although they shouldn't it is likely the CSA will still threaten to take you court while the new amount is calculated (at least 3 months accounts)
    If he can't pay and is not employed then theoretically they can't take action. Make sure though that you reply to any letters and calls you receive, and pay as much as you can while it is carrying on.
