let csa know as soon as possible that you are claiming benefits and you will only be required to pay at most £5 a week from the time you inform them -
p.s. also do this in writing with proof of postage at the post office which is free of charge.
keep ignoring the bailiffs and it will get refered back to csa, but let bailiffs know you are on benefits - record this aswell let them know you are recording phone call - better still write a letter with proof of postage.
do not let bailiffs in at all0 -
you'd be better off posting letters recorded as proof of postage is not proof of delivery!
depending on the circumstances that made you jobless then yes you could claim job seekers but I think you'd have to pay £5pw maintainence and an extra £2.50 pw towards the arrears0 -
paying extra will be optinal
you want proof of postage
you get a card from the post office counter stating that it has been posted, so therefore what happens after isnt your fault if any should arise0 -

Sorry, but if the agency have no record of contact. ie letter received or a telephone call then the only thing that they are going to believe is a Recorded Delivery reference number that can be checked.
Proof of postage just isn't going to cut it.0 -
The LO will still stand until the debt is paid. A LO is merely an acknowledgement in the eyes of the law that a debt exists.
If you are on benefits then it is £7.00 - not £5.00 - that is deducted from your benefit towards your normal maintenance. You will be asked if you wish to contribute to the arrears but it can't be forced.
As others have stated you would need to inform the CSA the SAME day that you became unemployed so that a reassessment could get done to take your new circumstances into account.
When you got a new job then the process would begin again and the arrears would try to be collected.
If it has got to LO stage then the enforcement procedure is well established so it would be better to get an agreement sorted for the arrears sooner rather than later.0 -
oh so its gone up from £5 to 7 if on benefits ? - what extras are happening - as payments are all in line with appropriate contributions according to benefit allowancees0

It went up in October 2008. Why are you bothered? You admitted that your partner doesn't pay anything anyway
