Reading all the fuss about pensions, will or could this credit crunch/crisis affect pensions currently being paid ? My OH has one from the council, is only £80 a week, but can this be affected at all ?

Best keep quiet. If Brown finds out about it you'll have the press round your door and he'll be threatening to take it off you.0

Who knows. If Harriet thinks they can change the law for Fred then presumably they could change it for your husband too.
That is why they just cannot change the law - it would be a terrible precedent.0 -
I wish SO VERY MUCH that Brown would come to my door himself. I have a shovel waiting behind it just for him ..

I think any pensions changes would affect any new/future pensions. They won't start robbing those who are receiving them.
Well, not directly. They'll find other ways to tax the pennies from your cold hands.0 -

ok ty. not worried though - but he was fussing. We are working hard on learning to live on fresh air. With the way things are going that's bound to be taxed soon though innit...0

Anybody else noticed the complete industry silence on pensions?
My guess is anyone with "with profits pensions" (about 80%) has just lost a stack load of money. We shall see in the coming months...Not Again0 -
I don't have a pension, so not watching them.
I'll get just get the old age one and whatever few quid I've got in my purse the day I turn the right age.0 -
£80 a week? Do the Daily Mail know? Damn fat cats and their gold plated pensions.
Anyway no, it's fine unless the state goes bankrupt, and if it does we have things like... where to buy food and whether there's running water... to worry about, pensions can wait!Hurrah, now I have more thankings than postings, cheers everyone!0 -
When the state goes bankrupt we will be ok. We have a cunning plan...
