Great, thanks for that, can't wait to get one now.

I remember that feeling you used to get using a Vax when you thought the carpet was clean and then looked at the dirty water that had come out of it!

Lol i used to have a vax many moons ago and always used to marvel at the dirty water. You will find the bissel is the same too.

One tip - if your model has it - there is a little sponge filter in the side of the dirty water tank, give it a rinse out or it can become clogged up and suds will shoot out of the side of the tank as air blows through it.
I have a sudden stupid urge to go home and shampoo my living room rug :o:D

What do you make of the quickwash Sunnyday?

I am only paying £39 for a reconditioned one but they are about £98 in Argos so hopefully it will be ok.

We bought a recon'd Quickwash from the Bissell website and it's fab, it cleaned our really embarrassingly dirty carpets without much aggro at all.

If you've bought from Bissell, mine came with a bottle of carpet cleaner and hard floor cleaner which I didn't expect as I don't think it says this on their website. It makes it even better value! :T

Yep, I have ordered it direct from the bissell website.

I have read a few reviews on it and they say it is good for carpets but not so good on hard floors as it leaves a lot of water on there and doesn't soak it all up again. I will be using it mainly for rugs and carpets anyway so that doesn't bother me.

I've only used ours on carpet, we've only got hard floors in the kitchen and the bathrooms and I tend to just mop those.

One other thing - yours has the same rotating brush as mine... I find from time to time it gets locked up with either hairs or threads (three of us in this house have long hair).
It's probably a good idea to check the brushes every so often - after each three or four washes, and cut through anything that may be clogging them up.

    (hope that's not TMI:o )

Well I will be giving the carpets a really good hoover before I use it as I tend to be losing more hair than the dog at the minute!

    Big bissell fan myself. :T
Have used Rug Doctor in mine as a stop gap. But usually buy Bissell pet formula from Ideal World £19.99 plus P&P for 3 bottles
. Lasts for ages and definately worth it as I have light carpets, 2 kids, 1 very confused old cat and a dog. Brings the carpet up a treat, plus scotch guard in formula makes a BIG difference. When this one goes I plan to upgrade to the pet model.:D
The problem with common sense is its not very common:rotfl:

I empty it of all water and take out the smart mix bottle then tip it on it's back. Then I run a scissors between the rows of bristles to break up the long strands, and pull it all out...

I always vacuum before I wash, but I think all of the long strands don't get pulled out of the carpet. I never see the hair, which is why I'm like  when I remember to check the brushes.

I recently bought a reconditioned quickwash from Bissell. I love it!! It came with 3 bottles of hard floor shampoo and 2 bottles of carpet shampoo. Bargain!
