Bissel QuickWash - is there a cheap carpet shampoo

Options
I have just ordered a Bissell QuickWwash from Bissell and was wondering if any members use anything other than Bissell shampoo in theirs?

I have an AromaPro, and I've used 1001 shampoo in it (the one for carpet washers, not spot cleaning).
It makes more suds than the Bissel shampoo, so I just run over it with plain water to finish.
It didn't seem to cause any problems for either the carpet or the machine.
I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

Thanks, I had forgotten about that one.

I did have a Vax but that was about 20 odd years ago when they first came out.

I feel old now that I realise it was about 20 years ago.

I've got an old bissel manual carpet cleaner and I've used everything from 1001 cleaner to laundry liquid but I've found diluted stardrops to be the best. I've also used them in a vax when we had one, must be about 20 years ago too!

Cheers for asking this question! Were about to start getting to the bottom of a last one we have and im starting to panic about its replacement,I dont have a quick wash, Ive got the full size one.

Anguk, what proportion dilute do you do it? Im worried were going to get piles of bubbles all over the place!

    Hi,
i have a bissel quickwash and i use a capful of vinegar (the bissel measuring cap in the tank) and a tiny squirt of stardrops. Don`t use much stardrops or you will have suds everywhere lol
I like using the vinegar as its a nice antibacterial agent (i have two dogs) it does smell a bit first off but once dry the carpets are lovely.

I borrow a bissel from a friend on occasion, and have used washing up liquid, 1001 and fabric conditioner, all worked fine. I found if I start with cold water, then use very hot water with suds then plain water it comes up fine.

To be honest I don't measure it, I just put a little squirt in. :o It's probably no more than a dessertspoon full, and I never rinse the carpet afterwards either. I found if I used too much stardrops the carpet would feel a bit stiff afterwards.

What do you make of the quickwash Sunnyday?

I am only paying £39 for a reconditioned one but they are about £98 in Argos so hopefully it will be ok.

I love it, quick and easy to use and it takes a lot of the water out of the carpet afterwards. Easy to clean as well. Just don`t try to wash the stairs with it :rotfl: i did in a moment of madness and almost wrecked it.

I must admit that if it broke i would definitely replace it with one identical if i could get it.

    Happy shampooing :D

Great, thanks for that, can't wait to get one now.

I remember that feeling you used to get using a Vax when you thought the carpet was clean and then looked at the dirty water that had come out of it!
