Endoment to pay of mortgage

I have two endowments one will be due in 3 years and the other in 5 years. As you know there will be a shortfall. Would it be worthwhile cashing them in and paying a large lump sum to my mortgage or leave them to come to full term before paying them toward mortgage taking into account current economic climate
