Hi everyone, Looking at how we live and what to do for the future I found this project http://www.hockertonhousingproject.org.uk/ and wonder what your thoughts are? We hope to visit it soon.
We would love to be involved in something like this but where to start? Are there likeminded people, solvent! around who would join in a project? Where UK, or France where we already have a foothold? Does anyone belong to a forum covering this sort of thing? I have looked at quite a few but they seem to be about town living or about existing finished projects. The sort of project to avoid seems to be the Bristol one. " Ashley Vale Action Group" There are a lots of problems and accusations of profit taking.

That DOES look nice....so I guess my own personal concerns would be noise (as in from the wind turbines) - which I imagine would be okay....and one would know it was "beneficial" noise. More to the point - the noise from that busy road nearby - I see "shielding" has been done and hopefully that would do the trick. I guess you would need to visit the site and see what the noise levels from that road were like and weigh up the likely chances of the noise/pollution continuing from that road - or whether Society is going to move in the direction of many fewer cars on the road (petrol prices) or a similar number (new means of propulsion being found - and hopefully at least of a quieter nature).
I would want to check out also for sure and certain that the lake level couldnt rise too high in the event of heavy rain - though I think that has probably been adequately dealt with.0 -

Have you ever stood next to a wind turbineThe noise of them is vastly exagerated, and you can easily hold a conversation, at normal volume (ie, not shouting
) underneath them
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies.
