Hi folks,
We are getting married at the end of May and wanted to know if there was any dress hire shops that my mum could get a good dress in.
As its something that might not get used again she wasn't too keen on spending money on a smart outfit. Because we are hiring all our suits she thought it would be good if somewhere hired out dresses out too, make it a bit easier.
Maybe there is nowhere does that lol, it was just a thought.
Many thanks
Mark

lol! Yes you can hire "Mother of the Bride/Groom" outfits.:rotfl:
Don't know where you live but most of the shops are Bangor/Newtownards direction. Try page 407 of the yellow pages.0 -
We're in Belfast, but willing to travel, have done a bit of travelling already getting things sorted lol.
Thank you for your help :beer:0 -
There's a shop called La Femme on the Ormeau Rd- they used to hire out dresses. Not sure if they still do, but would be worth giving them a call. :-)0

Many thanks, I'll give them a shout0

Also have you thought of buying an outfit from a charity shop?
Don't say no right away, I volunteer in a charity shop in Belfast and they get a lot of new and nearly new/once worn suits. Maybe have a wee look some day around them and tell them what you are looking for and see if they can help.
There is one that specialises in Mother of the Bride type outfits, but for the life of me I just can't remember where it is. I remember reading about it when I was planning my wedding on a wedding forum. I don't think it is in Belfast though. Bugging me where it was!! (sorry!) Maybe someone else might know of it.

I think its the charity shop in Newtownards "main" st. Is it Frances st? The charity shop is just opposite Wardens. Could be one of the cancer charities. They specialise upstairs in wedding outfits including brides and bridesmaids dresses.I have heard good reports about it. They get good donations.

Artytarty yes that sounds familiar!
Girlzmum, if you are out and about just call into some charity shops and see what they have in the meantime, you never know what you might come across. I will ask on the forum and see if anyone can remember for you.

My missus hired one last year from a lady who ran her hire business from her home along Ballyholme Esplanade, All the dresses were immaculate. Cant remember her name though.0

Arty.
It is the Cancer Research shop. The whole upstairs is devoted to wedding stuff. Wedding gowns, bridesmaids gowns and MoB outfits. It is in High Street as Arty says just opposite Wardens. Tel: 028 9182 0268 easy car parking near by as well.0
