Price of all your stationary (made by yourself)

Options
Well my brother has recently got engaged and as their trying to save money I thought I would offer to do all their stationary as their wedding present (Im a graphic designer and do handmade cards).

BUT, I have NO idea how much this is going to cost. I would probably spend about £50 - £75 on their present (£100 tops) if I was buying something. So want to spend around this.

Obviously my time is free, but how much did you all spend on your materials?

Im guessing that Ill be doing:

Day Invites
Evening Invites
Seating Chart
Menu's
Place names
Thank you cards

And maybe engagment party invites, depending on cost of other things.

So MSErs, how much did you spend on this?

Thanking you in advance :)

Have only done the invites (day and evening so far). I bought 50 sheets of white card from ebay and a few rolls of thin organza ribbon. Cost under £20 and I still have plenty left for the orders of service etc. I printed the message onto a paper insert which I tied in with the ribbon.

I am planning on doing a table plan with the same card, some coloured card and a large frame from Wilko.

I am not very "arts and crafty" but they looked quite good - am sure that you could do something more adventurous!

I reckon I will more than likely get the outside printed at a printers, but then this depends on how many they invite. If its a small number I may not have to!

So do you reckon I can do all of it for under £100?

I'm making my SILs and it's cost me a whopping total of £4, lol (not including ink or card that I already had, just £2 for ribbon) - the envelopes will cost about another £2.
If my typing is pants or I seem partcuarly blunt, please excuse me, it physically hurts to type. :wall: If I seem a bit random and don't make a lot of sense, it may have something to do with the voice recognition software that I'm using!

My invites will cost me about £80. That includes buying a load of stuff that I probably won't use, and experimenting!

I'm doing 40 day invites, 50 evening invites, order of service, table plan menu's etc. I'm printing the invite onto photo paper (4 x6) trimming it down and gluing it to backing card. I've got ribbon and diamantes for a bit of bling.
A few sites I have used:

    And ebay. I lurve ebay!

  • We have made our own Save the Date cards (with magnets on the back) and are in the middle of making our our invitations (in the style of an envelop with a pocket for the map, gift list, RSVP etc), thank you cards and name places.

We have some nice hammered card from eBay, some heavier card from Hobbycraft and some ribbon and diamontes. For 110 guests this will end up costing about £60. Hope this helps.

Much cheaper than buying them and a lovely present for you to give someone! Well done and good luck! :)
