Cdiscount are a French company, now majority owned by the Casino group, which may account for some of the quirky use of language in places. My friends who have gone to live in France say that the French firms have little regard for customer service, not a patch on the UK approach, so I hope Cdiscount in this country is adopting British standards.

An annoying aspect of their website is that if you don't order early you cannot specify next day delivery - note the number of specials they have running from 6pm to midnight, too late for next day delivery. I have ended up waiting 5-6 days despite order tracking saying that the order had been picked in the UK warehouse on day (evening) one.

I forgot to say that on the whole I will prefer Play.com for electricals, but the listing of kitchen equipment might be interesting - how do they compare to Comet or Currys ?

I just bought a SansaFuze 12GB from Cdiscount for 44.99 with free delivery, the reviews of this little player are fantastic and i have been looking to spend c. £40 on a good player for ages, This is great because its made by SanDisk, so you can upgrade the capacity just by buying the MiniSD cards. The 8GB version is selling for around £50 on Amazon and over £65 elsewhere...

I received my Neo Moonji MP3 player and this is what I think ...

    - The build and size of the MP3 player is very neat. No buttons, as its all touch sensitive.
    - Headphones supplied are rubbish - use a better pair and the sound quality is good.
    - Instructions are in French, and by default the language of the player is in French, but I was able to change this to English quite easily. The player is quite easy to use and follow, though some screens look a bit amateurish.
    - The box says it reads in ID3 (the song information within a MP3 file), but all I seem to get is the filename on display. Not a problem really, as all you do is rename the MP3 file as the name of the song, if you need to know what song is playing.
    - When switching on the player, it takes about 10-15 seconds to start, which I think is probrably normal.

    Conclusion: BARGAIN AT £14.99!
(For the techies : it uses a Rockchip)

    Hi djstats

Just got mine and I am totally stuck, my GCSE French just cannot cope with the all French instruction booklet and French on screen instructions. How did you change the screen text from French to English please?

The weird thing is there is a short introduction already on the player which is in spoken English and is simply sound effects and alday telling you about them and doesnt give a clue how to navigate or work the thing!!!!

Showing at £47 now? Still a good deal if that includes delivery, though Play have the same player for £49 (inc. one of a couple of free CDs) http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/8989666/SanDisk-12GB-Sansa-Fuze-MP3-Player/Product.html

Luckily I've just looked more closely at the bits of paper that came with my Sansa Fuze.

Included with it is a voucher for a free audiobook from Audible.co.uk - if you bought from Amazon you'd have to pay between £9 and £20 for one.

The Sansa is an even better deal than I first thought it was !

On the main menu ... go to 'Reglage' (has a picture of a gear wheel) and press the Centre button
Go down to Language, and press the Centre button
Find the word 'ENGLISH', and select it (again pressing Centre button)

If you go through quidco, you can still get a free book when you sign up. Also get £4 cashback. No need for the Fuze voucher.
