    Good morning.

I have updated my signature. I had to buy milk and grapes yesterday. Today I will need to pick up some sausage rolls and bread. Tomorrow is my month end. I am so pleased with myself that I cracked it this month. We used up tha last meal in the freezer last night and we are having chicken from the freezer tonight. This was the first month I did a big monthly shop from Asda topped up with smaller shops as needed. Our food waste is down significantly but the cupboards have never been empty. I wil probably leave the target them same for next month. I am comfortable with that amount.

    Hi all,

Been really busy last couple of days, but yesterday didn't go too well, needed toilet rolls and bread, ended up spending £3.40 :(

Flowerfairy159 - thanks for the info. I find this really useful and helps me with new meal ideas. Please could I ask for your recipe/instructions for pork and apple in the slow cooker and also your pork and apple rolls.

    Hello all,
Today is my last day of the month, so Im declaring at £158.31 - £1.69 under, yipee! :j Better than last month, when I was slightly over.
Can I be put down for £160 again for April? Im sticking with the same amount and if I come in under again I'll reduce it for May.
The main reason I do this is to try and reduce waste and to keep me from buying unnecessary stuff! Oh - and to save money too!!

    Have a great day everyone!

you will always be rich enough to be generous.

Hi nntbb - just post on here what your Budget is in Big red letters and MRSMC will add you to the list. Good luck and welcome, you'll soon be addicted like we all are.;)

I've not spent anything since Tuesday but may need to pop to the shops tomorrow for some Milk and F&V for the weekend.:o

Dinner tonight is a Chicken, ham & mushroom pasta bake with Salad.:D

  • Had a NSD yesteday and so far today but need hubby to get milk in on way home! Went into M&S and was so tempted by the £15 meal deal as the chickens are huge and priced at £9.50!!! So include a wine, dessert and side dish and it is a bargain really but I couldn't carry it all :( So I guess that will be £15 saved as I didn't really need it but it would have made a nice sunday lunch and saved me getting my smaller chicken out of freezer!
Salad for dinner tonight ( I had changed my plan as weather was so nice!) so I will have to add some chicken or something to warm it up a bit ;)

    Thanks scotsaver and cheryl!
OK, our weekly budget for food, drink, household & toiletries is £65. Starting from Monday which is when I do the shopping. This is for me and my husband. Woo!
By the way, any tips on eating cheaply when one of you eats LOTS OF MEAT and also trying to be healthy, would be amazing.
    Thank you!
