weirdly it all ran exactly to timetable but by about the the fourth time of lugging my bag on and off something I was getting a bit pished off. The walk was the worst, I thought I'd never find the check in desk! The bus just dropped off at the front of a building rather than the train coming to a 'proper' arrival area. There was a bus stop which said 'terminal 3 bus' and I thought, can't think I'll be at terminal 3, surely that will be for the little airlines etc? How wrong I bloody well was........up stairs, across travelators, up escalators, down lifts, through terminal 1 ground floor check in desks, up to terminal 1 check in desks, a wail of frustration at a woman on a baggage counter, back down a lift, outside (again) across a road, into terminal 3, up another lift and then a hike to desks 37-39 which were - it seemed - checking the whole world and his wife in on behalf of Flybe!

If there had been a sign with terminals and airlines where the bus stopped I would have got the bus rather than feeling like I might never make it out of the airport again!

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

I take it you didn't go through Manchester Airport Railway Station then. I only ask because I worked on the new third platform there.
  • Sounds like a nightmare journey BB, but still very quick considering how long it would take driving..

    Afternoon

Just got back home after picking the kids up from the rents. I had a lovely time, everyone was so nice, I didn't end up TOO steaming drunk, and I escaped the hangover from hell by going running first thing.

    Can't wait till Leeds! :j
