*hugs to cherry* hope you feel better soon and that you have lots of lovely friends in the Inn to rant about things to :)

strange question, but does anyone know of a good way to fix split ends, apart from a trim? I had a trim about 3 weeks ago, askign them to sort them out, and I've found a load more since :( OK, I straighten my hair a fair bit but I use the heat spray stuff.. I also always condition my hair when I wash it, but it's feeling a bit dry and fraying :( Does anyone have any good home tricks I could use as I don't really want to go spend more money on a cut (And possibly have to cut it shorter than I want considering where some of the splits are showing!)

I use serum on the ends of my hair before after I wash it. Haven't had it cut since October and hardly any split ends :D mine's from Avon (naturally ) but I'm sure there must be others :D xx

    morning all

Chris, I hope today goes well, will be thinking of you xx

just put a claim in for my eyetest from my company - as I work at computers all day, they can pay for the eyetest :) So thats £130 instead of £150, a bit more in my pocket :) Though stupidly I forgot my receipt this morning *headdesk* so can't claim until tomorrow.
Also just called my closing meter readings through to the electricity and waterboards for the old flat. LL told us we couldn't get the water meter readings, something about being in the road. Called board to tell them, they cant close the account without them.. *sigh* so getting the ex LL to have a go and call them. At least he's being nice about it :)
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah it's REALLY NICE here! really sunny and bright and not cold. Very pleasant :)

    edit: WOOOOOOOP! I have my 4th star :D :j:D:j:D

Gemma, how come your eye tests are so much? Mine is £30 and it includes them taking a photo of the back of my eye because of family history of glaucoma, macular degeneration and cataracts; I can't believe they'd want that much anywhere...you should find another optician regardless of who's paying!!

I get my eye tests free as I have a HC2 certiciate; anyone on low income, you are entitled to this too; go to the GP/pharmacy and ask for an application form, and send it off with some recent payslips to prove low earnings and you get a year long certificate in the mail. HTH!
  • Cathy/any slow cook veterans, if you're putting a bird in there (I got a reduced price guinea fowl), do you leave it on the low setting? And do you just put the bird in on its own?

:) the eye test was £22, the glasses were the £130odd ness :)

    and I don't fall into low earnings so I don't get HC2 either :( thanks though :)

Yes I would cook it on a low setting with some stock, you will find the meat will just fall off the bone, so careful when you take it out, so it dont just fall apart and you will have to pick all the bones out
