Still not heard from DFD

  • Sorry splender, I mis-read your thread before about you having the fees. With regards to money already paid I don't think OR will claim it back off them, although I can see your point. DFD told me that the creditors would agree to the IVA if DFD reduced their fees, which apparantly they did. They also said that creditors wanted money every 3 months. I don't think that DFD would have sent any of the money to the creditors. I agree with dalip, I wouldn't be surprised if DFD are BR soon along with other IVA companies mis-selling IVAs to the under-knowledged, they're like vultures, the government should step in and stop these companies keeping hold of all payments until their fees are made, and make it compulsory they keep some for fees and some to creditors every month. I can't believe people have been in IVAs for 2 years and the creditors have not received any of that money, it's disgraceful!!!
  • I suppose in all reality I am stalling because I don't want to lose the car. It is on hp on a 3 year option which is due for renewal in Jan. I need the car to take hubby to work for 6 in the mornings and for me as I cant get about without it due to pain walking. I have applied for the dla but can't get it, the hospital wont operate because it could put me in a chair for life so stuck really. Just have to see what the OR does. We cant afford to buy an old bangor and hubby needs to get to work.

  • We also have a car on HP. We were able to keep it with the IVA for some reason, I'm not sure how that works. I'm almost certain it will be taken back by company. I assume OR won't be able to touch it as it's owned by Black Horse still. If Black Horse offered for us to carry on paying for 2/3 years at the same premium I would refuse now as ity is only worth £1,500 and £5,768 still owing. That was another company that seen us coming and shafted us at the time of buying. If only I had the knowledge and wisdom then that I have now.

Thats a good point, i'm worrying about my car being on hp, i've got bout £5.500 remaining on mine, and i've just looked at the parkers book and it's only worth £2.225
 Did'nt have clue about BR:confused:

  • Some might say, well if you weren't in financial trouble you would still be paying the payments till that full amount is paid off and the car would still be worth that small amount anyway. However, as we are in financial trouble, it would be wiser to refuse and save up for another, unless it is legal and OR allows to negotiate with the finance company a smaller premium for X amount of years. The finance company isn't going to sell it for much more anyway, then there's the cost of collecting it etc. Who knows what they would agree to.
  • I really wouldn't mind continuing to pay as long as it was sorted as a complete deal as they wouldn't let me finance again in Jan anyway I wouldn't think. The problem is it is still coming up on Parkers at about 5,000 as it is only 2 years old.

Why not miss the payments on the car for a couple of months so you have a few hundred pounds and then buy a runaround off Ebay with it?

    Hi all
Sorry not been about for a while but with having baby and battling DFD i have been rushed off my feet.
Progress to date: i am not further farward than i was a year ago. I can not go bankrupt with out my Cert and DFD have still not supplied me with it!!!! I have only been asking for nearly 12mths!!! I am at a stale mate, cannot get financial aid to force them to give it me, courts not intrested unless i have said cert!! Asked everyone and everyone has come up nothing. Local MP not intrested so i am now doing nothing!!!!! Not paid my IVA for 13months now and i have had no letters / phone calls / anything since i started asking for my cert so i could go BR!!!

    Hope everyone is keeping ok

  • Zoe have you not heard from creditors either regarding your debts. I am putting off calling DFD as hubby feel that while they do nothing why should we? it does leave you in limbo though doesn't it when you want it all over.
