Looks like I've messed up with Credit Report

Options
Hi All,

I would really value some advice regarding the mess I think I have found myself in with my credit report- or the information on it!

To simplify I am in a messy relationship and as such live between our rented property and my family home.

I am on the electoral role at our rented property as my partner renewed it with me on (lets call it address 1), have all my correspondance, accounts etc there.

However at one point last June I agreed to pay council tax at my family home (address 2) as I seemed to spend more than 50% of my time there and felt it was wromg for my Mum to continue paying 25% single person's reduction when I was there.
Whilst there I applied for a mobile phone in my own name (as mine was in my partners name and I wanted independence) stating that my address was there (address 2).

I have realised that this all means that:-
Address 1- bank accounts, electoral register, Inland Rev, Car tax, DVLA car registration and driving license, passport etc
Address 2- mobile phone contract, car insurance (as its parked there mostly) and council tax

I have just applied for my credit reports and realised as one has come through that it isn't good to have my details spread round like this. I hadn't thought of the implications of everything when I had been organising things as I don't have a good grasp on financial issues (I don't have any loans, mortgages, credit cards or anything).

Do you think I should transfer everything to one property for simplicity and will it look very bad that from June 2008 I state my address as address 1 but have applied for credit at address 2 (as well as everthing else listed above).

I would REALLY appreciate ANY advice as I really don't know what to do or where to start.

Many Thanks.

I would change them all to one address and then you can get a note added to your credit report that creditors will see when they access your report and they will then understand why when considering further applications.
  • Thanks- I feel that this is the best option- I hope a note will explain. I dread it causing anyone from disregarding me from a mortgage application because it all looks odd.
