I recall there's a program for your PC which lets it work as answer phones (via the modem), it's fully configurable, has scheduling options to allow different messages at different times of the day and would easily do what you want at a much lower cost.



edit - a quick search has found a number of free or shareware software packages which do simple answerphone functions. I suggest having a good search if you wish to go with this option.

there is a lovely bit of software called VENTAFAX, not sure if it does what the op wants. this software has the added feature of emailing faxes and voice messages to an email address, so you could pick up your messages and faxes form your home pc at work etc, fairly instantaneous too.

It even checks itself to see if the service had died and restarts the ventafax services.
