Dollars to Pounds - where should I go for best rate?

Hi

I have 400 dollars that I want to exchange for British Pounds. Is now a good time to do it as I've had them a good two years.

Also, can u then suggest where I can go to get the best rate?

Many Thanks

Depends on where you live. If you are in London, the best place I've found is Thomas Exchange Global in the Strand and Victoria. On the exchange rate, if you bought dollars for, say, £200 ($400) and now sell them for 1.4 (today's listed rate - 28 Feb) you'll be making about £85 (if my sums are right). Anyway the weaker the pound is against the dollar, the better for you when selling them back (watch any commission though, Thomas Exchange Global doesn't charge commission)
