Help!!! What can I do with half a chicken???

I've started shopping at the local butcher's instead of the big supermarkets and popped in today to buy some chicken for monday's tea!! I managed to buy some tasty chicken drumsticks reasonably and asked him how much he sold his whole chickens for (so I could work it into the budget).
"Whole ones are £2.99 , or you can buy the ones like this cheaper..... picks up half a bird to show me"
Literally a bird chopped in half front to back. What a good idea I though, I only like the breasts, even if the kids'll eat the rest!! BUT when I got it home it was the back half not the front - soooooo no breasts at all
.
I was hoping to do a roast with it for tea, any ideas what it'll be good for instead - or how I can cook it???????

I would take it back and ask for one cut front to back, can't believe he gave you a chickens bum, what a cheek! (sorry couldn't resist that one!)
So you got two legs then and a bit more? I'd probably take the leg and thighs off in sections and make a casserole with the bits.0 -
nope no legs just the wings
, maybe I have got the breasts then hmmm better take another looksie in the bag now!!!

There are only two of us and we often buy a whole fresh chicken and cut it down the breast bone into two halves, one leg and one breast on each.
Cook one half and freeze the other half. ( Guess who gets the leg?)I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0
