Cheap Glasses?

I have used the search function...and failed to find much...but...
am I right in thinking daysoftlenses are about the cheapest for lenses, and glassesdirect for ...er..glasses? Wifey just got her eyes tested today, she works for tesco, so gets 10% discount, but they only go to +-5, while she needs -8 and -8.5 (if she could see me, she wouldn't have married me )

I have similar problem, and need very similar strength glasses... I wasn't brave enough to go the online route, and went to Boots when they had special offers. Expensive thing are those glasses for when you need them really strong!!!!!

thanks, ginvzt...just noticed the -8.25 from glasses direct is a big no-no...they only go to -8

Watch out for supposedly cheap prices but then at the end they add a huge amount for anything but the worst thickest scratchable uncoated lens. Glasses direct seem to be guilty of this trick.

I imagine for -8.5 the ultra thinnest lens is required.
