I have started looking for a cake stand for my wedding cakes and would appreciate some advise please.I know I want a 3 tier but there are so many types and I have no idea what to buy.
My cakes are going to be 3 of the same size in different flavours(bought but iced by myself)so I would like a stand with supports the same size but all I can see are stands with graduated supports.Would the larger cakes be okay sat on the graduated stand do you think?
Any links to cake stands appreciated too.

Sadly I'm no cake stand expert but I've just bought mine from ebay, with a view to using it once and then selling it after the wedding. Once you know what you're looking for there are lots to choose from, just be patient and watch the prices for a few weeks to know what you should expect to pay.
I was told I could hire one for cheaper but I wanted to have it for a while as like you I'm buying but then icing a cake and needed it for when I do a practise run...
Good luck...0 -
I looked into hiring a stand, and it was only marginally cheaper than buying.
So, I have bought off ebay, and will resell at a late date like Kte.0 -
My local cake / party shop does cake stand hire at £12! I would shop around, hiring will be cheaper.Money, money, money, must be funny....in a rich mans world.
