I think you have been pretty generous anyway - can you afford a holiday, to smoke, such a large entertainment and clothing budget, to spend so much on gifts?

If paying over 10 months, can you ask to pay it over 12?

Look at the comparison sites to see if you can get a better deal (uswitch, moneysupermarket)

This can be reduced. Have a look at the old style board for meal plan ideas. Have you moved down a brand (shops own)?

Can't afford a holiday right now

With some careful budgeting, you may get close to breaking even.
Have you missed payments on your credit cards or loans?

It may be worthwhile keeping a spending diary so you know exactly where all your money is going. This may help you to keep a tighter reign on the budget and possibly see if you are wasting money anywhere.

hi clothing allowance includes school uniforms for a 9 year old girl and a 8 year old boy . re birthdays chritmas budget 780 doe's not seem to bad. cigarettes reduced from 130 per month. hopefully when my plan is up and running stress levels will reduce and i can give up again.i did for 4 years uptill last june.re .holiday budget this includes days out. school summer holidays seem to go on forever. ps in my soe there is no place i can see for school dinners 64 per month .thanks for any replies /help received.off now to watch wales on tv .
  • £780 on birthdays may not seem much to you but it is a lot and you can't really afford it. I'm sure you can reduce it - I buy a lot of presents in charity shops or make stuff.

Holiday budget - are there no free "clubs" that your children can join? Your local library may have leaflets on things to do for free with the kids. Football in the park is free.

Can you get rid of Sky? You can get freeview through the box.

Can your children take packed lunch to school - that would save a bit per month.

Clothing - I appreciate school uniform is expensive but when I was at school (a long time ago!) my mum used to buy second hand uniform and you would never have known it was second hand and it was a fraction of the cost.
