Loan Advice

Hi,

I've recently applied for a £17000 loan with the AA and they referred to an underwriter who said the application needed to be made jointly with my fiancee. Because our rent of £800 comes out of my bank account it was seen as being all of mine, when my fiancee actually puts her half into my account every month via standing order, but this was not accepted as other monthly income. I'm not really willing to have her put herself on debt gained by myself - and I dont think she's too keen either because she's close to paying hers off!

The £17,000 loan is needed to consolidate, and I'm willing to pay from £290 - £310 over 6 years (AA were saying £304), can anyone suggest another bank/lending agency? Would this "referral to the underwriters" look bad on my score?

Advice needed!!
