No Official Receiver Interview!!!!

  • Hi patsypat....
Not too bad thanks, the appt was for Monday last week but my interviewer didn't get into the office because he had "car problems", nobody thought to ring me either.
I was finally interviewed on Wednesday afternoon.... no undue worries... He OK'd my budget (it is pretty low) OK'd the car. OK'd for me to do extra overtime in April to meet the rises in my rent and council tax.
No IPA (no surplus) and he doubted that I would hear from them again.
So pretty good really, just have to watch the pennies....
Could have been worse, I suppose..

  • Just an update as promised.................

OR rang first thing to answer a few questions I had, firstly my car has to be sold but they will give me up to £2000 for a reasonable replacement as OR is aware I cannot maintain my job without a car. This was disappointing but not unexpected. Then she informs me that there will be no IPA which completely threw me as I was expecting an IPA great news again.

Then she goes on to say that I will be sent a questionnaire in a couple of months to see if my circumstances have changed. Now this I am hoping is possibly to do with an early discharge??? Fingers crossed anyway. Never even had a discussion about I&E!!

Apart from the car this has gone so much better than I expected!!

I am so glad that I made the decision to go BR I can now get on with my life.

    Good luck!!

How did you get on SA???

Hi, just out of interest, what was your car that they took off you? £2000 sounds a lot to find a replacement. I understood it that you were not allowed as much that for your car?

    Thanks

It seems to vary from OR to OR... £2k is the limit that is usually given on here as a rule of thumb but it seems that some with a vehicle of less value lose them and some with a vehicle of greater value keep them.... no telling!
Mine is only worth £1100 - I got to keep it, no probs.

  • My car is a Saab 9-3 worth about £4500. I do up 600 miles per week so need a reliable car.

The OR said I would get up to £2000 so will have to wait and see.
