It is still much cheaper to fly from Aberdeen to Dublin - I live half way between the two really and if you go to MSE you can search for flights and the prices range from 0.49p to £4.00 plus taxes each way - I went to visit my daughter in Dublin in beginning December and return fare was only £31.00
It depends how much it costs to get to Aberdeen

Unfortunately, I don't have a car/drive etc so it would work out cheaper for me to travel from Inverness to Dublin rather than Aberdeen. Depending on the timings of the flights etc from Aberdeen, I may need to incorporate the cost of accommodation into the trip as well. Good though if you can get cheaper from Aberdeen and you can travel through cheaply without having to get accommodation due to flight timings.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. That is a shame as if you could have managed to get to Aberdeen their flights are usually either late morning or afternoon. I live 60 miles from there but managed to get a lift the last time one way and my OH picked me up on my return home so only one way petrol. Nice to know you can go from Inverness now though and they may become cheaper too
