I said as much to him, he asked how I knew such things and I told him all about this site.
He also said I was selling myself short in the jobs I was going for (I tend not to look at the high paying ones as I assume I wouldn't be able to do them)...but then he also knows what I am capable of compared to a prospective employer. I'm just not confident in my skills.
He may be good for you then - build that confidence. What does he do?

He is a management consultant, although he is taking a short break between contracts at the moment, not enforced but by choice as he is writing a novel.
I did tell him the confidence is coming back up (balls were mentioned a few times here) but it will take time.
Funniest part of the evening was we sat down and was about to order starters (scallops for me if anyone is interested), and my previous work colleagues sat down at the very next table! It will be the talk of the office tomorrow.....We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Ha ha. He sounds a bit of a catch (be cautious until you can validate him though - presuming you don't have prior knowledge).
Your ex-colleagues will probably be seething with jealousy. Enjoy!!0 -
Don't worry Zammo, I'm not going anywhere. Just going to take a break for a bit.0
