£12.99 for 3 months 2-disc unlimited rental. I am cancelling my current subs and signing up for this one, although they offered to 'upgrade' my current subs for one month.
Terms & Condidtions
1. Offer valid until 28th February 2006. 2. Only one offer allowed per household. 3. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or promotional code. 4. You will be billed for 1 month's subscription after you sign up to the service. The following 2 month's subscription will be absolutely free. 5. We are unable to provide a refund for your first month's subscription if you cancel within the initial 3 month offer period. After the 3 month period, you will be charged a normal monthly subscription fee according to the package you subscribe to at that time. 6. See further terms and conditions.

was with lovefilm last year.
the first initial 30 day free trial was outstanding.
then the following 3 for 1 offer, complete crap.
i got 1 for 3.
i got the same amout of films delivered over 3 months as i would in 1.
wether theyve changed their service or not, i dont know.Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
plus i think you hgave to ring an 0870 no. to cancel now.(dont think you can do it online)0

I just cancelled my account (from July 2005) online.
And riskybusiness-yes, the service does get really slow, something to do with "fair play" in their t&c's. To make the discs turn around faster, I intersperse TV series (24, lost, etc) with the top 50 movie list. They have a limited number of discs for the newer films and if that's all you have on your movie list, then your turnaround will be slower. If they have something in stock, they send it out the same day they receive your disc, so sometimes, the turnaround is 2 days.
They do take you for granted after a few months, I have not received ANY of my top 10 films since December, and I'm now a new member again so the service should be faster. They do need to fix this bug of theirs.
All this just my humble opinion, of course.

Would love to sign up for this, but am away for 4 weeks in March/April, can I have a holiday like on Screen Select and get a discount on the 4th Month?0

With love film you can take up to 6 months holiday at a time. I tried while waiting for the quidco cash to arrive! There is no intelligent life out there ... ask any goldfish!0

when i was with them, their service was terrible.
i even emailed them complaining bout it. i even told them that i understand the fairplay policy.
BUT
I had over 160 films in my list
and i still wasnt receiving them??
there is something really wrong with that.
thats the part i didnt understand. they value new customers on free trials more than returning customers.
i aint knocking you. glad you getting good service. just hope it lasts for you.
didnt for me.
im back with blockbuster now, and they aint too bad. im tempted to retry screenselect again, but im waiting for a similar offer with them.Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
I've just called Lovefilm to cancel my membership so I could move to EasyCinema and they have offered me three months for the price of 1... I wonder how many times i'll be able to wring that out of them before I'll actually have to move?
I find that Lovefilm works best if you keep less than twenty films in your queue and make them a mix of newest releases and older movies (I use this system to motivate me to watch all those movies that I have always wanted to see but somehow never got round to)0 -
Dang, I just called LoveFilm to cancel (I've been on the one month free Sainsbury's DVD rental trial) and the lady didn't offer me any kind of 3-for-1 offer! That's annoying, as I would have gladly taken the offer. Grr.
Edit: Didn't spot the date of the OP. Stupid me.0 -
You rang to cancel your membership during the Lovefilm free trial period? Or because you were moving to Sainsburys?
I think they only offered me the deal because I am a full member and have been for a few months. At the level I am on (4 films a months, two at a time, £7.95) they are the cheapest available but I had decided to switch to EasyCinema because although it is the same price per rental I will only have to pay for the rentals i use (I don't always get through four films a month as I work at night). I'll threaten to leave again in three months and see what they do.0
