lidl from time to time has free food items to give away , usually bread / rolls/ crumpets etc, sometimes other things. These items are located behind the tills at the table part where you sort your shopping into bags.

No it is just all stacked up at the packing tables or if they have a lot of bread etc, they are in the pallet things by the door. First time I seen it I thought it was stock waiting to go out - next time I was not sooo slow and got Chicken Drumsticks -( and for all my neighbours) they were lovely! Think just an hour before closing is the best time to go at our store ( East Kilbride)No Longer addicted to Boots! - Well not today anyway!! :blushing:

I got some free Scotch eggs and some double cream 2 weeks ago.
One of the SAs told me months ago that Lidl policy is that they cannot sell anything that is on it's Best Before or Sell By date, so they give it away.
Interestingly, both the scotch eggs and the cream had a few days left on them.

good policy-certainly more environmentally friendly than chucking it out-tescos etc take note!
coincidentally, when i was working at somerfield, we used to do this before closing for christmas/new year....
well, twice a year was better than never! The word is BOUGHT, not BROUGHT.
It's LOSE, NOT LOOSE.
