Abroad with debt

I stupidly got myself in a fair amount of debt but, determined to pay it off asap, I have taken a far better paid job overseas. I am starting to pay it back as quickly as possible but it would be much much quicker if I wasn't paying interest on the multiple credit cards. Is there anyway that, even though I am a non-resident, I can get an interest free credit card or even consolidate my debts into a cheaper loan? I own a flat in the uk if that makes any difference?

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

If you are still meeting the minimum payments, it might be a little tricky to do this, but you could offer them a reduced full and final settlement. Write to them stating that you no longer reside in the country and hopefully this will sway them to stop interest and charges. Some creditors will accept 50%-75%, if it has been passed to a DCA 25%-50%.

I would also look at reclaiming any charges that you have had to the accounts.
