Has anyone used a slowcooker to make marmalade?

Options
I have a glut of oranges that have been delivered in our veg box. I wondered about making marmalade but have 2 small people under 2 and don't really have the brain capacity to remember about hot boiling fruit :D so wondered about using the slowcooker to help. Can it be done? If so, any tips? Or very simple instructions?

Or does anybody have any other ideas for using up my glut?

I think you could use the SC to soften the peel, but it once you add the sugar, it won't get hot enough to set the marmalade.

Edit - just thought - some breadmakers have a jam-making programme. You may be able to soften the fruit in the SC and finish in the BM (if you have one).

We have an existing thread on using oranges - I'll add this later ;)
