  • i think you should maybe head on over to the up your income board and maybe have a look at 'from home' options. Theres a lot more than just ebaying that you can do from home, and theres stuff you and your wife could do together.

Posting an SOA would be helpful, an outside eye to the finances wont hurt, maybe someone can help see something you havent been able to, or suggest something you havent thought of.

About the silent telephone calls - do you think some of them might be telephone marketing calls? You could try registering with the telephone preference service - it's free, so it couldn't hurt.

Also, I don't know if it is still available, but I used to have a second bt phone number through the call sign service. You did have to pay for it (about £5 per quarter) but then it rings with a different ring tone.

Do i have the guts to sit in the CAB centre and explain all this? Sadly i think not.
Or phone the CCCS only for them to want to call me back and be too scared to answer the phone.

To be honest, I think you are making your life more difficult by trying to ignore everything. You know that you do owe money to these companies, and they aren't just going to go away and forget about it, so the only thing you can do is to take control and start talking to the people who can give you advice and help you find a way forward. It isn't an easy situation to be in, but that is where you are so you owe it to yourself to face up to it and find out what your options actually are so that you can begin to try to sort things out.

I was already registered with the TPS and very rarely got any sales calls. Any that did call only did once as i said hang on i must record this call because i have blocked sales calls and will need a record.
I did signup for some BT service that was supposed to block withheld numbers but it only stopped a couple. Seems that its easy to get around the block.
Then they send text messages to the house phone that rings back again and again until you pickup the message.

    Now blocked also.
