£1 macain fries blocked in my tesco the REALLY NICE SA even tried to type it in manually which they never do and it bleeped, cheese 30p scanned ok. Tried the Macain £1 in Asda as I bought the product ( with my free bread) and it scanned first time.
Has anyone managed to get Tesco to take the £1 macain one?

Thanks, just got back from asda and managed to get 5 put through separately. SA wasn't too keen but I did point out what was written (i.e. NOT per customer):j

The bar codes on the McCaines isn't clear and wouldn't scan in tesco but the SA put it through manually and it was accepted:j

Went through a self-scan till with 2 of them and had no problems.
I was aware that the SA would have to input the value of the discount ("99" barcode but 000 value field) and she did both of them in a single transaction without question.

I'm going back shortly to get 2 or 3 more - this time I'm going to see if I can get a couple of Wholemeal loaves instead.
Whilst the advert has a picture of a White Loaf, and the text refers to it also, the coupon itself actually says "This coupon may be redeemed against a Warburton's 800g Medium Loaf "

No mention of White - and the advert says worth £1.29 - which is what my loaves scanned at - but the normal Wholemeal is only £1.22 and the high fibre/bran one just £1.25.

Worth a go - if there's a problem I might argue that the reason the coupon is not for a fixed amount and that the SA has to input the value is to allow for it being redeemed against different Warburton's 800g loaves at varying prices.!
