  • Boots Smart range It may be they were referring to the Boots range of Smart products for children. As they don't provide the EPA+DHA=omega 3 totals onsite it's probably an indication that like Haliborange they are ripping people off with more hype than omega.
As I have made clear before in order for the brain to fully develope and function well it needs an adequate supply of oily fish marine oils. If your kids haven't had four portions of oily fish a week then they will think quicker and better if they have an omega supplement with as much EPA+DHA as possible. Zipvit Omega Juice remains the best value. Unless of course someone else knows better. Be useful if someone with access to Boots Smart bottle posts their omega totals so we can see by how much they rip the ignorant off.

The Radio Five Live programme had a man on from the Food and Behavior organisation.
They were trialling MorEPA, Eye Q was also mentioned.
The problem seems to be getting manufacturers of supplements to reveil what goes into them apparently Mor EPA was one of the few that did.

    http://www.equazen.com/default.aspx?pid=184 manufacture Eye Q.

    http://www.healthyandessential.co.uk/shop/index.php?cPath=30 supply Mor EPA

http://www.fabresearch.org/ are conducting trials on EPA and DHA.

I've been giving my children (11 and 8) Omega 3 for about 3 years and when I first started giving it to them (it takes about a month to take effect) their teachers couldnt believe the improvement in their school work. I started off by giving them Haliborange oil and now I have gone on to the capsules. They sell the original flavoured (fish) capsules in Poundland but you dont taste them as you have to swallow them.

Not really back I've lost my E7EVEN connection and having to resort to very slow and expensive dial up or go into town to use the library which is where I am now.
would like to make the point again that what matters is the EPA and DHA content and that the standard 1000mg capsules may contain as little as 180mg EPA +120mg DHA=0.3g of OMEGA3 this means that for a child to get the kind of amount of epa+dha used in the trials at least 3 capsules daily would be needed or 6 SIX DAILY of the Poundland 500mg variety. If you used the Zipvit Omega Juice you would get 1.5g of omega, probably 3 times the amount from the more expensive suppliers for less money.

You have to bear in mind that supplements are to make up for the lack of omega through the normal diet and the proportions of EPA/DHA found in the zipvit product are a nearer match to the original food source than the more refined, messed about with, more expensive, alternative suggestions.
