My brother has what he calls a latex mattress. When I go to visit him I cause arguments between him and his missus so I can sleep in this bed with him. ( WHAT? ) Is this the same kind of mattress.
Just re-read this and I must point out I do it to sleep in the bed , not with him.
It puts my back back for me ( good syntax )
Cost him £700. Is it the same?S!!!!horpe0 -
Re concept-wohnen-gmbh (link in above messages), they sell both in English and German on ebay. We have purchased several of times from them via auction. Mattresses are really good memory foam - not just toppers and are much cheaper than Tempur! They have a 12 year guarantee and a large range of sizes. Just measure up your current mattress and send them the figures (they can usually find one to fit!). I recommend that you bid/buy in Euro's rather than pounds 'cos it usually works out cheaper. The pillows are good too. Re your electric blanket, you can send them an email via their shop - English is not a problem.

I have had a memory foam mattress (Tempur) for around 6 months and hate it. I get back ache and neck ache and find it very hot. (My husband loves it) I find that I sleep in the same curled up position all night - its supposed to stop you tossing and turning - and when I wake up I ache. I really regret getting it.
Only realised how bad it was when I stayed in a hotel bed for a couple of nights and had no aches and pains.0 -
Some more info and cheaper including free pillows.

We bought a Tempur Superking memory foam mattress about 6 months ago from Back in Action. http://www.backinaction.co.uk/?action=tempurgoogle&linkfrom=googleadwords1
They say that they will beat any other quote you have.
I haggled and haggled the price down and got 2 free millenium pillows out of them too. We paid around £1150 for the Tempur superking 25cm depth with 2 millenium pillows. We spent ages researching it. We also went to showrooms and tried other cheaper memory foam mattresses e.g. eurolux, etc.. but they just weren't as good.
The good thing about "Back in Action" is that they will give you the mattress VAT free if you fill in a form saying that there is a medical reason for it. I put on it that we had a bad back and neck and had being seeing the osteopath, which was true but we didn't have to prove anything or provide any evidence - they deduct the VAT at source which makes a HUGE difference to the price hence why we paid just over £1,000. I think that this deal only applies to Tempur, not the other memory foam mattresses out there, and means that you can buy a Tempur one for much the same price as the top-end budget ones.
We love our mattress, and our backaches have gone. However, to answer previous posters queries
1. you can't use an electric blanket or hotwater bottle with it as it's the heat from your body that molds the mattress shape.
2. a slatted wooden bed is good, a solid divan style base is bad.
3. The pillows can feel a bit cold for a minute or two, but then warm up and stay warm. We don't find that we overheat or anything, though I could see how some people might find this.
4. The big advantage of Tempur is it's widely available in the show rooms - so you can go and try it out first. We struggled to find Eurolux, et al in showrooms. We drove to Manchester to try one out - and it just wasn't as good as Tempur - noticeably, and wasn't that much cheaper in the scheme of things.
4. You definately turn less, you feel your whole body sink into it, and become supported, and get less backache according to our experience - we did opt for the super thick version 25cms though.
5. The only problem i've found is that being 25cm thick and a superking, it's not that easy to find fitted bottom sheets to fit.Rhiannon of WoolamaiThanks!
