Switching out of Fixed deal

Hi,
Recently, I went to my BS branch to change from my fixed deal to a tracker. I paid the ERC, arrangement fee and signed all the paper work. I had a contract, or so I thought. I got home and was rung to tell me that the branch advisor had made a mistake and I could not move to the tracker, nor any other mortgage with them. Head Office would not allow it for anyone. A few days later I even got written confirmation in the post of the new deal, but they have refused to honour this.
Can I make the BS stick with the contract?
Thanks

Someone made a mistake. They are probably covered by the term & conditions................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0

The sad thing is though, the t&c's seem heavily weighted so that the BS has a get out clause.
I had a problem with a product we signed for but decided against, it was not in effect but there was no way the BS would back down.0
