Roxburghe!

After writing to them 4 times and emailed 3 times all unanswered, I rang them last week.
Loan balance is at £1500, they offered to settle at £1010 with £500 payable immediately and the rest the friday after, payday. I said fine OK.

Loan was taken out in 2003 so finally being able to pay it off is ace....

He went off to clear it with the manager, she said No!
Because I only have a CC with £1800 on it, she wouldnt reduce it.

She said if I paid £500 immediately and 3 more of £138, my usual monthly payment, she might consider a settlement in 3 months time.
Well that is £914 so I'm not going to be any better off!

I lost my rag a bit, he said he could sympathsise, Ive never missed a payment, no hassle etc.
He started hassling me to make the payment of £500, I said No, then he wanted my bank details to reset the DD monthly.

I was totally !!!!ed off by now and said "Tell your manager shes a !!!!! and your not having any more money from me, Ive had enough, you can see me in court and have what your given"

He tried to ring me back a couple of times but I was too angry to speak to him.

So I rang Nationwide today to try and settle the account directly with them, but they dont want my sodding money either it has to go to those scumbags!!

I really dont want to deal with them!

I could have declared myself bankrupt when I owed 20k but Ive worked my !!!! off to clear my debts, all these people who get money knocked off and that cow said no!

Any suggestions please? I'm totally fed up!

you could try phoning them again (at a different time) and see if you can catch a different manager on their shift
  • I'll try that thanks, I just think my little outburst will be held against me and I', too proud to go crawling back.

I could put a cheque for £1010 in the post and a letter about cashing cheque being f&f settlement etc....and a whinge about !!!!! troll from hell lol

Just received a letter from the Immediate Action Requred.

"I am surprised to note you have failed to respond in a satisfactory manner to our previous letters" - I havent had any other letters

Your failure to take action indicates to me theat you do not intend to settle your liability and therefore will pass your matter onto our analysts who will review your case"

blah blah CCJ or debt collectors at the door....

I HATE these people so much, Nationwide wouldnt take payment for the loan. Roxburghe don;t respond to letters and I wont speak to them on the phone anymore, they can say anything was said!

I dont see why they should be allowed to offer me a reduced amount, then decide that I can afford more based on some managers decision who knows nothing about me.
