I have recently been made redundant after 4 years working for a company. I worked 1 month 'in hand' and then after working for 2 months i only got paid for 1. Am i entitled to the first months pay cheque now that i am leaving?

when you work a month in hand you get paid ( for example) jan's pay on feb pay day.
when you leave (say in november) you should recieve a wage in december.
is this what has happened or are you still one month short?
let us know pay days, starting/leaving month etc for better advice.0 -
curious to know my 16yr daughter has been working for local restaurant and paid month in hand, she needs to finish, but is afraid she wil loose months pay, i have not seen any contracts etc, and wages ispaid direct to her bank account, how does she go about finishing employment, the right way so as not to loose her month wages. many thanks0

Read her contract, write a formal resignation letter giving the correct notice, leave on good terms, ie say that you have enjoyed your time working for the company etc (nothing gained in burning bridges), state what you final shift is going to be and when you expect your final pay. Makesure you keep a copy of the letter!Debt Free Wanna Be

Its unusual to be paid a month in hand really. Did she work a whole 2 months before getting any wage.
There is no reason why she should lose a months wages if they a bone fide restaurant.
Has she kept her pay slips. If so, check them and still keep themmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Just to make sure, yu are entitled to 4 weeks redundancy and 4 weeks notice.

Are you sure that you worked a month in hand rather than a month in arrears?0

My daughter worked a month in hand for a big hotel chain, she got her lying time on the normal pay day, end of the month, some three weeks after she left.0
